Office time tracking — home office, hybrid, flexible hours

Part of the team in the office, part at home, one at a cafe, two on a trip. “Who came in today?” is the wrong question — “who’s working now?” is right. TimeHunter shows it live in the panel.

Hybrid and home office — without suspicion

An office worker isn’t a warehouse hand — no photo kiosk needed. In the office the lightest method is enough: a Start/Stop button in the web panel or app. At start the employee picks a work mode: on-site, remote or field, and the manager sees it in the attendance list. Manage by outcome, not surveillance.

Web panel

Start/Stop from a laptop. Works on Windows, Mac, Linux — anywhere with a browser.

Mobile app

Android (iOS beta via TestFlight). Start/Stop, breaks, leave requests, company announcements.

Home office in the roster

Mark a remote day in the roster with the Home office flag, so everyone knows in advance who will be in the office.

Flexible hours — 7-15, 9-17 or 11-19

Many office firms have moved past “strict 8-16”. Once flexible hours are enabled in TimeHunter, the system stops detecting late arrivals — the employee starts when it suits them, and the system totals hours worked against the norm.

Companies that want fixed hours in one department set them via work groups — e.g. sales works 9-17 (clients call), and lateness is measured from the group’s start or the roster shift.

Leave system — no more “please approve” emails

Request in the app

The employee picks dates and a type (e.g. annual, on-demand, special, sick, childcare, overtime time-off) and can attach a file. The request goes for approval.

Multi-step approval

You can set up several approval steps. The employee gets an email when the request status changes.

Leave balance

Approved leave reduces the balance, and the employee sees how many days are left.

Upcoming leave

A list of upcoming absences in the team makes it easier to plan cover, and approved leave goes straight into the roster.

AI Assistant — ask your company in plain language

The paid “AI Assistant” addon lets you ask in chat: “who was on home office last week?”, “how much overtime does Anna have in June?”, “show late arrivals for May”. The assistant fetches the company data it needs and answers in Polish, Czech or English. It uses an OpenAI model to generate answers.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use TimeHunter for home office?
Yes. The employee taps Start/Stop from a laptop or the app and picks the “remote” work mode. The manager sees who is working and how many hours they have done today.
Does the system require fixed work hours?
No. You can have fixed hours set in work groups, or enable flexible hours for the whole company — then late arrivals aren’t detected and total hours are compared with the norm.
How does the leave workflow work?
The employee submits a request → it goes through the configured approval steps (e.g. manager, then HR). The admin gets an email about the new request and the employee an email when the status changes. Once approved, the leave goes into the roster.
Does the AI Assistant access my data?
Yes — to answer, the assistant fetches your company’s data from TimeHunter (e.g. hours worked, absences, late arrivals) and passes it to an OpenAI model that generates the reply. The assistant only works if the company enables the paid addon.
Does it work on Mac and Linux?
Yes. The web panel works in any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). Mobile app for Android, iOS beta via TestFlight. No native Windows/Mac/Linux app (not needed — the browser is enough).
What about employees on a business trip?
The app and panel work wherever there is internet. The employee records time as usual and can pick the “field” work mode. Times are stored and shown in Central European time.
How much for a 25-person office?
Example: Start plan €1.49 × 25 = €37.25 per month excl. VAT, Pro plan €2.89 × 25 = €72.25. The AI Assistant is a paid addon. The pricing page lists which modules each plan includes.
