What is project billing in TimeHunter?

Project billing is a TimeHunter addon that lets you track time split by clients, projects and task types — with automatic billable amount calculation. Every work session can be assigned to a specific client with its own hourly rate. The system continuously calculates hours × rate and shows the current billable amount.

For accounting firms, law firms and agencies this means the end of a multi-hundred-row spreadsheet where every month you manually verify how many hours Anna in operations spent on client A, B and C. The employee taps start, picks a client and task type (reports, audit, advisory) — everything else is automatic.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add a custom hourly rate for a specific session?
Yes. Each client has 3 standard rates (e.g. junior/senior/partner), but you can enter a custom rate when starting a session — useful for special engagements.
Is the invoice PDF branded?
Yes. The PDF includes your company logo, details (tax ID/address), client details and a table of hours per employee per task type. A4 landscape, ready to attach to an invoice in your billing software.
Do employees see client rates?
By default no. Employees see the client list and pick a task type — rates are visible only to admin/manager roles. You can change this in role settings.
Can I import clients from an existing CRM/Excel?
Yes. Export a CSV with headers (name, tax ID, email, 3 rates) and upload — TimeHunter maps columns and shows a preview before import. You can also add clients manually.
Does it support retainers (bundled hours)?
Yes. Each client has an optional monthly hours budget (e.g. 20h retainer). The system alerts at 80% usage and shows overage separately in the PDF — easier conversation with the client about extras.
Can an employee enter time retroactively?
Yes — “Edit session” lets workers add time up to 7 days back. Every edit is logged (who, when, what). Admin can require manager approval for back-edits.
Can I use multiple currencies (PLN + EUR + USD)?
Yes. Each client has its currency. Invoice PDFs are in the client’s currency. You can have one EUR client (German company), one in PLN (domestic) — no manual conversion.
